Joys are flowing like a river,
Since the Comforter has come;
He abides with us forever,
Makes the trusting heart His home.
Refrain:
Blessed quietness, holy quietness,
Blest assurance in my soul!
On the stormy sea, He speaks peace to me,
And the billows cease to roll.
Everything is turned to gladness,
All around this glorious Guest;
Banished unbelief and sadness,
All is perfect peace and rest.
Like the rain that falls from heaven,
Like the sunlight from the sky,
So the Holy Spirit given,
Falls upon us from on high.
What a wonderful salvation,
Where we always see His face!
What a peaceful habitation!
What a quiet resting-place!
Maryetta’s Mission is the continued work of Maryetta Keech Jackson born March 25, 1924, called home March 15th of 2009. This scholarship fund is dedicated to her adamant mission of telling the story of unseen things above, of Jesus and his glory, of Jesus and his love.
She loved to tell the story and lived it because she knew it is true as evidenced by the heartfelt comments upon her death. As one younger friend stated, “What a very special lady--She gave me my first Bible and I knew she prayed for me.”
At an early age she surrendered all, she freely gave all to him and forever trusted and loved him. This is apparent by what her great niece wrote upon her death. She wrote, “Aunt Maryetta was the sweetest, most gentle woman anyone could have had the honor of knowing. I wish I could be there for the family, but just returned from home this past week. I am so glad I had the opportunity to sit with her, pray for her, and be in the presence of a dear angel we all had in her. God rest your soul.”
Her church was her life and she unwaveringly stood on the promises of God. She understood she could not fail as the howling storms of doubt and fear assailed, even through the death of her infant son and the separation from the son she had hoped to adopt. At times like this she would turn her eyes upon Jesus, as she looked squarely into his wonderful face, and then remind her family that the things of earth would grow strangely dim, in the light of his glory and grace.
Another friend made the following comment, “Maryetta was a wonderful, sweet spirited person. She always made you feel comfortable in her home and was a very pleasant person to talk with. Her love always poured out from her heart.” When nothing else could help, her love lifted us just as his love lifted her.
Years before her death, Maryetta requested the song Blessed Quietness be sung at her funeral, and it was. The message from her is loud and clear. She had such assurance in her soul and she now enjoys blessed quietness, holy quietness; what assurance to our souls.
This scholarship program is to help those who are studying to enter a ministry, pastoral, musically or otherwise. As her family and friends gathered in her home during her final days on earth, it became exceptionally clear that God touched her and made her whole; all knew she was Christian by her love. Maryettas’s mission was started unknowingly by her many years ago, Maryetta’s Mssion Scholarship Fund was born right there in her home in her final hours on earth, so through this fund and those who this fund assists, she will continue to go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere that Jesus Christ is born, and still alive today.
